CareCentric Announces Partnership with Legacy Data Access

CareCentric provides current MestaMed, Dezine and STAT 2 legacy system customers with seamless transition to their integrated, internet based Ac-Cura total management solution through the use of Legacy Data Access conversion services.

Atlanta, GA (April 5, 2005) CareCentric, Inc., a leading provider of technology, business operation and outsourcing solutions for home care providers, announced today a partnership with Legacy Data Access, Inc, a provider of web-based data storage and access services, to provide CareCentric’s home health and home medical equipment customers with a seamless transition to CareCentric’s new integrated, internet-based management solution, Ac-Cura.

The partnership will provide CareCentric customers with the option to migrate their platform-dependent data to Legacy Data Access’s solutions for on-site storage, data access, data cleansing, and/or selected data loads to CareCentric’s new Ac-Cura solution or other data sources.

“One of the most difficult issues that face organizations considering a system change is the process of transferring patient data. Typically IT vendor solutions consist of costly, time-consuming manual re-keying or an expensive, archival system that makes data access virtually prohibitive,” said Mike McGuire, Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing for CareCentric. “We wanted to make the transition easy for our customers. Our partnership with Legacy Data Access is the perfect solution. Customers can turn their data over to Legacy for easy, secure, web-based access storage or choose selected data elements to be extracted into the Ac-Cura solution.”

Mr. McGuire added, “At CareCentric, our entire approach is centered on providing solutions that allow our customers to focus on their core competencies and leave the rest to us – simplifying data conversion is one example of how we are able to do just that.”

Shelly Peters, President of Legacy Data Access exclaimed, “I am really excited about the prospect of offering a solution that can fill the gap of a conversion process from a proprietary database to an open platform solution in a simple, fast efficient manner. CareCentric customers will be able to focus their attention where it belongs - on the benefits of the new Ac-Cura system and how it can enhance their operating efficiencies.”

By taking advantage of Legacy Data Access services, CareCentric customers won’t have to worry about storing historical patient data in-house or have the added cost of managing multiple systems throughout a conversion process. Database structures will be automated using existing MestaMed and DME VI data dictionary and STAT SQL mapping. Data will be available for instant view or in report form via the Legacy Report Writer. All tools and applications have user-level security and meet all federally mandated standards for privacy and security.

Legacy Data Access, Inc. (LDA) was founded in 1999 by three IT healthcare professionals. LDA has worked with healthcare organizations nationwide enabling them to store data in a secure, web-based environment for easy access and retrieval. Legacy is located in Marietta, Georgia.
