CareCentric Offers HME Billing Services on Its MestaMed® Software
Pamela Pfaff Joins Company to Head New Services
ATLANTA (September 4, 2007)—CareCentric ® Inc., a provider of technology, business-operation and outsourcing solutions for the post-acute care industry— home medical equipment, home health, private duty, hospice and long-term care—has announced that it is now offering its total outsourced billing services using its MestaMed® software application. The company also performs billing services with its Dezine/DME VI and Ac-Cura® applications, and is already providing services to several MestaMed customers through its new Pittsburgh center.
With its billing centers in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Dayton, Ohio, Jamestown, N.D., and now Pittsburgh, CareCentric collects more than $100 million a year for its billing customers, with a DSO well below the industry average. As a full-service billing company, CareCentric confirms orders; gathers certificates of medical necessity (CMNs) and reauthorizations; bills primary, secondary, tertiary and patient portions; works all denials and correspondence; and posts cash. In addition, it offers training on new policies at no additional charge. This allows the HME provider to concentrate on getting business and delivering product and services to their customers.
To head up the MestaMed billing operations and manage the company’s Jamestown, N.D., office, Pamela Pfaff joined CareCentric as of August 27. Her experience includes extensive training and consulting in the use of MestaMed. Pfaff worked for Alternative Billing Solutions (ABS), now a part of CareCentric, in the late ‘90s as a billing manager and consultant, and was instrumental in opening the Jamestown billing center. In that same timeframe, she also worked for CareCentric for almost a year as an implementation manager. Pfaff spent the past six years at Great Plains Rehab in Bismarck , N.D. , as a fiscal services and compliance coordinator. Previously, she was director of education/operations for Health Care Solutions in Ann Arbor, Mich., and support and training manager at American HomePatient in Brentwood, Tenn.
“We are so happy to have Pamela rejoin us,” said Nancy Burma, CareCentric vice president of billing services. “Her strong management experience with well-established HME providers, and vast knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements will serve our customers well. We look forward to her taking over management of our Jamestown office and helping to serve a growing number of CareCentric customers in that location, as well as through our MestaMed billing center in Pittsburgh.”
Headquartered in Atlanta, CareCentric ® delivers technology, business operation and IT outsourcing solutions to providers serving the entire post-acute care continuum—home health, private duty, home medical equipment, home pharmacy, long-term care, assisted living and hospice. The company’s offerings include an array of business process, IT, education and consulting services, along with its software packages. By addressing its customers’ total management and operational needs, CareCentric allows them to focus on care delivery—enabling both business and clinical success.
